Taokaka and Ragna the Bloodedge by MLDKF

Bio: The 13th Hierarchical City of Kagutsuchi had been one of the last view havens of humanity, and as such, it had many visitors come to it day in and day out. None were probably more infamous or dangerous than the Grim Reaper himself, Ragna the Bloodedge. Ragna was mostly looking to cause some trouble for The Library when portals began opening around the city. Not really considering it his problem, he soon saw the catgirl Taokaka, one of the few people he could actually call a friend, run into one of them. Not knowing what was on the other side, and knowing Tao's penchant for getting herself into trouble, Ragna ran in after her. Upon arriving, Tao happily greeted him, but as Ragna was ready to lead them back out, the portal closed behind him. Now stuck here, and seeing many fighters teaming up to battle, Ragna decided that the only way out was to carve a path themselves. And so they did, making their way through the world of Death Battle

Intro: Ragna walks in, blade on his back, as Tao bounces in beside him. "Alright Tao, let's show 'em what we've got." Ragna says as he drew his sword. "You got it, Good Guy!" Tao says as her claws suddenly pop out with Tao adding an audible "Shing!"

TAOKAKA...

Theme:

Playstyle

Taokaka is a pretty fast and slippery character, making her easily one of the most annoying and trollish characters in the entire roster. Half of her moves don't even seem like they'd be that useful, and yet they are. All of this, however, comes at a cost to Tao's strength and stamina, which she doesn't have much of, so if you somehow CAN catch her, she's not exactly in any position to fight back

Moveset...

-Kitty Litter Special: Taokaka will reach into her cloak and throw a random object at the enemy, which is a mostly reliable projectile attack. Such items include...
Pillow
Apple core
Bowling ball
Bomb
Fish
Shuriken

-Slashy-Slashy!: Taokaka crouches down and creates sawblades from her claws, hitting multiple times and sending the opponent into the air. Pretty good damage dealer, but not reccomended for those who like to make powerful combos

-Cat Jump: Tao jumps forward to land on the enemy and has the option to spring off them and ground them, slash them once, or claw them repeatedly before leaving them on the ground.  Useful Anti-air attack.

-Cat Spirit!: This move depends on the type of attack used. Light will have her swipe at high speeds at whatever is in front of her. Medium will send her forward with a flying kick. Heavy will have her swipe low, then uppercut the enemy into the air. These attacks have very creative and very helpful combo potential if used wisely and timed correctly

-Trick Edge: Taokaka will spread her arms and let the wind take her backwards and upward before she somehow dives towards the opponent. Great escape technique, but doesn't really help her when she's backed against a wall.

SUPER MOVE: I'mma Beat the Crap Outta You!

-Taokaka pins the enemy to the ground, then unsheathes her claws. She then proceeds to slash them repeatedly, forming a dust cloud in time. She then jumps out of the cloud, which dissipates to show the enemy on the ground.

RAGNA THE BLOODEDGE...

Theme:

Playstyle

Unlike Tao, who is slippery and trollish, Ragna prefers to get up close and violently personal, having plenty of close-range techniques and both the speed and strength to use them. But he's not exactly a fan of getting hit and has very few long-range attacks, so if you can kite him - that is, pelt attacks at him from him and make sure you're out of the range of his attacks, he can't really do much to counter

Moveset...

-Hell's Fang: Ragna lunges forward at the opponent, before striking at them with his leading arm, wreathed in the darkness of the Black Beast. This attack is a pretty helpful rushdown move to try and counter those that do try to kite

-Inferno Divider: Ragna leaps forward in a spiraling motion; delivering an uppercut sword slash, wielding Blood-Scythe in a reverse grip. Pretty good anti-air while also a great way to extend a combo

-Gauntlet Hades: An overhead, ariborne strike; Ragna hops into the air and delivers a fierce, downwards-spinning hand-slam of darkenss onto the opponent's skull. This attack is pretty easily telegraphed, but it's one of Ragna's strongest attacks

-Dead Spike: Ragna swings his sword upward along the ground to release dark energy from his sword in the shape of one of the Black Beast's heads. Ragna's only real ranged attack, it can be easily jumped over, but if you can keep your opponent from jumping, this move can help a lot

-Blood Scythe: Named after his weapon of choice; Ragna flies forward while circle-slashing with his Blood-Scythe, transformed into its scythe mode, downward in a midair turn. It is Ragna's slowest attack and can be dodged with more ease than other attacks, however it is also his heaviest hitting, capable of being used to break through guards, and steal health from opponents it hits.

SUPER MOVE: Black Onslaught

-Utilizing the power of the Azure Grimoire, Ragna strikes the opponent with a small uppercut reverse-grip slash, then turns his sword into a scythe and slashes the opponent repeatedly, draining their soul almost entirely before finishing the combo with a final stab

VOICE ACTOR: Patrick Seitz

Costumes:

Costume 1: Standard Appearance
Costume 2: Light Ragna (White Coat, Blonde Hair)
Costume 3: Young Ragna (BlazBlue: Continuum Shift)

TEAM ATTACK: Slicing and Dicing

-Ragna begins by stabbing the enemy with the Blood Scythe before Tao jumps off his shoulders, claws extended, and slashing at the opponent while Ragna removes his sword. A comical dust cloud appears around Tao and the opponent before they're sent flying before Ragna jumps up, activating the Blood Scythe's Scythe mode, and a blue orb appearing on the back of his hand before slashing at the opponent, a shadow-y pair of wings protruding from his back as red energy drains from the opponent and into the blood scythe before they fall to the ground, next to where Tao has fallen asleep. She's then scared awake by the sound of the opponent crashing

Rival Cutscene...

(Tao and Ragna are standing in front of a rundown looking mansion)

Ragna: Ready Tao?

Tao: You got it, Good Guy

(The two walk into the mansion and begin looking around. We cut to various rooms in the mansion, including the bedroom, where Tao is lying down on the bed while Ragna seems rather annoyed by it to the kitchen where Tao is raiding the fridge. They then end up in a hall with a large staircase, though with a few broken windows and cracked walls)

Ragna: Looks like no one's here. Good. We could use a break.

Tao: *yawning* Well, wake me up when something happens

(She then lies on the ground and falls asleep, Ragna shaking his head as he sits on the stairs)

Ragna: *to himself* Tao, you are a piece of work sometimes. But you're probably the only person I could trust going in here. I just hope I'm not causing any more problems just from you being around me.

(Ragna then lifts up his arm and looks at it)

Ragna: The Azure Grimoire...Jubei told me not to think of it as my own...I guess he was right. This thing is a freaking curse to me. Anyone I could trust just ends up getting hurt by merely being around me. And yet, Tao doesn't seem to care. Either she's got a spirit that's protected...or she really is as oblivious to what's happening as she looks. I wouldn't have even come here if it wasn't for her. And with no sign of Jin, I can only hope we're the only two from our world who are here

(The doors into the hall then slam open, waking up Tao)

Tao: Hey! I was trying to nap here!

(Standing in the doorway were two men. One was shorter and dressed in a yellow outfit, with bits of blue and black on it. The other was dressed in a purple shirt and black pants, with spiky blonde hair and a sword that was as big as he was.)

Ragna: Oh great. Hey assholes, you mind going somewhere else!?

Wolverine: Fat chance, bub. We're here to fight. That's how this world works

Cloud Strife: Don't take this personally. We just need to get out of here and to our own worlds

Tao: Well we're not gonna let you! Good Guy and I are gonna win and we're not stopping until everyone else has been sufficiently beaten up!

Ragna: Right. So if you two wanna fight, we'd be more than happy to kick your asses!

(Wolverine unsheathes his claws)

Wolverine: Well good. I was hoping this wouldn't be too easy.

Ragna: Let's go!

(The two teams stare each other down as the screen fades to black)

Ending Cutscene...

Ragna and Tao successfully made their way through the world of Death Battle, their victories proving themselves to be strong warriors. But as they had done so, they attracted the attention of a mysterious sorcerer from one of the other worlds. This sorcerer, Shang Tsung, snuck up on the two and began to absorb their souls. Taokaka had gone down quite quickly thanks to her exposure to Ragna's soul destroying powers. But as Ragna's soul was taken, Shang Tsung had inadvertently awoken a dark power within. Ragna's body transformed into a hydra-like creature of darkness known as the Black Beast, who soon devoured the sorcerer. And with the famed six warriors nowhere to be found and the portals now re-opened, nothing was to stop the Black Beast from unleashing its terror upon the multiverse...
They are quite the odd pair of friends, and yet they've been helpful in defeating many a powerful fighter. Now they team up once again to defeat the powerful warriors that have been unleashed in the world of Death Battle
